Scripting

While working at XL Games, various tasks lead to the need for MEL scripts to be written. We were using the Collada interchange file format, which was constantly in development, therefore requiring all our assets to be modified or re-exported quite often. In addition to scripts that modified and re-exported Maya scenes, I created script that set up Maya for use with Collada and a batch tool that would allow any operation be performed recursively in a specified directory.

I am also in the process of learning MAXscript, which is a rather easy transition from MEL.

I enjoy scripting very much and look forward to more opportunities to use MEL and MAXscript to automate tasks for both art and production pipelines.

These scripts were written to use Maya 7.0 and ColladaMaya_301
