My first task for Pitfall was to design, model, map, weight and animate the latest incarnation of the pit. I created several 3D animated concepts ranging from a collapsing sink hole to the final toothy pit monster.
My next task was creating the pause menu interface. I proposed and conceptualized a hybrid interface which combined animated 3D models with a screen-based UI system. I spent a good amount of time working with programmers to create, refine, re-work, and test the system, working within the limitations of our memory budget.
I also created many effects, for gameplay and real-time cinemas. This included a variety of particle effects, breakables and shader effects/sorting. I worked closely with programmers to evolve and test the functionality of the tool, ultimately assisting in the creation of a new tool during the next project.
